EIGHT JUNIOR CREAMS ARE READY ON COURSE FOR FINAL OF VOLVO CHINA JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP

The 5th Volvo China Junior Championship finished quarter-final and semi-finals today, eight players from four groups will make their last effort to chase the titles coveted by all junior golfers in China.

Playing two rounds match play in one day is far from an easy work, let alone for the teenagers. However in the afternoon’s semi-final, two boy’s match had to play three extra holes to qualify the finals, while Wang Zi Hao of senior boy’s group and Wang Shou Qian from Boy’s Group B were the lucky ones to win the ticket to the final from that two group. 

After defeating He Dawei and Zhang Jin successively, 15-year-old Liu Yuxiang, who claimed the champion of Boy’s Group B last year, get himself in a position to compete for the title of Boy’s Group A, as well an entry into the 2010 Volvo China Open. Liu will compete with Wang Zi Hao in the final. 

As the top seed player after the qualifying round, Li Yuan from Boy’s Group B was scared by Liu Yanwei, who was at one time 4 holes ahead in the quarter final but Liu failed to play the role of black horse. Li Yuan showed a better condition in the semi-final by defeating Li Haotong 4 by 2. He will challenge Wang Shou Qian in the final.

Xiao Yi and Huang Zhi Yin, who moved forward to the final of Girl’s Group A, they have already improved their career record by entering into the finals in Volvo China Junior Championship. Xiao Yi defeated Yang Jiaxin until the last minute of 18th hole, her best friend Huang Zhiyin will be waiting her in the final.

As for Girl’s Group B, Fan Shi Yang promoted herself into the final after defeating Shi Yu Ting  5 and 3 in the quarter-final and ended the run of Xu Qian Yi with a 2 and 1 win in the semi-final. Fan will meet Ji Rong from Beijing in the final.

The Final begins at 7:30 tomorrow morning, and all eight qualifiers are getting themselves ready to lift the Orrefors trophy.
